In the autumn of 2014 the offices of the Moravská Ostrava a Přívoz city district first leased the former Česká spořitelna building from Real Estate Ostrava, a.s., a member of PASSERINVEST GROUP, a.s., for its new headquarters on the basis of a transparent tender. The company provided the municipality with extraordinarily advantageous conditions for the long-term lease and the possibility of the priority purchase of the building. The company also repaired the building at its own expense according to the client's requirements, including the adaptation of the data network in the building in order to satisfy the operation of the offices and communication with citizens.


In 2015 the municipal council made use of the option for the priority purchase for previously-specified conditions and in January 2016 the last formal steps were completed and the Moravská Ostrava a Přívoz city district became the owner of this beautiful historic building in the centre of Ostrava.


"I am very glad that we managed to build such successful cooperation in the Czech business environment, culminating in this result, which occurred entirely without corruption and thanks to the mutual helpfulness, willingness and fair behaviour on both sides," commented Radim Passer, the Chairman of the Board of PASSERINVEST GROUP, with regard to the progress of the negotiations.


Real Estate Ostrava, a.s. is part of PASSERINVEST GROUP, a.s., whose other subsidiary, New Karolina Office Development, a.s., was instrumental in the construction of the Nová Karolina Park office building, located in the newly urbanised area on the site of a former brownfield. Its striking modern architecture forms a "gateway" to the historical centre of Ostrava.


The Moravská Ostrava a Přívoz city district is one of the 23 city districts of the statutory city of Ostrava and it comprises the historical core of today's Ostrava. It is situated on an area of 1353 ha, in which 38 thousand people live. It has two heritage sites on its territory protecting those parts of the city district that are valuable from the perspective of architecture and urbanism: The Moravská Ostrava urban heritage zone and the Ostrava - Přívoz urban heritage zone.
