Czech real estate market on the rise: Investments in the first quarter of 2025 exceeded the volume of the entire year 2023

The first quarter of 2025 was marked by extraordinary activity in the Czech commercial real estate market. According to Colliers, the total investment volume reached 1.48 billion euros, already surpassing the full-year results of 2023, which amounted to 1.15 billion. Several large transactions with a value exceeding 100 million euros contributed to this record.

Construction of the Brno Dornych project: 90% of the material from the demolished old building will be recycled

The construction of the new Dornych project by the Crestyl development group in the vicinity of Brno's main train station is progressing to the next phase. After the demolition of the old shopping center was completed, the last rubble was removed at the end of April. 90% of the demolished material will be recycled. A full 100% of the raw materials from the excavation of the construction pit will then be reused. Some of the material will be used directly in the construction of the new project. Its completion is scheduled for the end of 2027. Dornych will offer a freely accessible public space flanked by several smaller buildings. The lower floors of the new buildings will be reserved for shops and services, while the upper floors will house a hotel, clinic, rental housing and offices.

The Dunaj Palace, a newly renovated office building in the heart of the historic center, has achieved the internationally recognized LEED “Gold” certificate, which is synonymous with high ecological standards. The almost century-old building on the corner of Národní and Voršilská streets has undergone a sensitive renovation in recent months under the leadership of Zeitgeist Asset Management and with the support of Prague’s conservationists. The prestigious certification was achieved thanks to the active cooperation of all project participants and the company Grinity, which led the entire process as a LEED consultant.
