Achieving the Platinum level represents the highest possible rating and requires meeting numerous strict criteria. Port7 has therefore joined the ranks of Europe’s most advanced projects that combine top-tier architectural standards with measurable user benefits. The WELL Platinum certification complements the project’s previously awarded LEED Platinum and Access4You certifications, further strengthening Port7’s position as a model example of sustainable and inclusive development.

WELL v2 Platinum as the Highest Standard for Healthy Environments

WELL Core v2 is the latest version of a global certification that evaluates workplace quality. It delivers a range of tangible advantages for building users that translate directly into their everyday working lives. The assessment focuses on overall indoor environmental quality from the perspective of health, comfort and mental well-being—factors that have a direct impact on employee satisfaction and performance.

The certification considers elements such as air and water quality, acoustics, thermal comfort, access to natural daylight, conditions for healthy movement and relaxation, rest areas, and healthy nutrition. In this way, WELL helps create environments that support concentration, reduce fatigue, and enhance overall well-being.

“WELL certification goes beyond technical building parameters; it evaluates environmental quality from a human perspective. It examines aspects such as lighting levels, acoustics, ergonomics and the influence of space on mental well-being. From the beginning, our goal was to ensure our buildings provide not only functional workplaces, but also environments that support health, satisfaction and overall quality of life,”
says Eva Nykodymová, Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager for Commercial Development at Skanska in Central and Eastern Europe.

Higher Satisfaction, Health and Productivity

For example, the report Understanding the Impact of WELL Certification, summarizing results of a scientific study published in the journal Building and Environment, showed:

  • a 28-percentage-point increase in overall workplace satisfaction

  • a 26% improvement in perceived well-being

  • positive shifts in mental health, physical health and perceived productivity

“We believe that healthy environments directly influence performance as well as overall well-being and health. WELL Platinum confirms that Port7 provides not only an aesthetically attractive setting, but above all a truly healthy and inspiring workplace,” adds Eva Nykodymová.

A Demanding Process and Team Effort

Certification was conducted simultaneously for all three buildings, and the process itself took more than a year. Each building had to undergo an independent evaluation including detailed measurements and verification of parameters such as air and water quality, noise conditions, thermal comfort and lighting performance.

In total, more than 82 hours of measurements were carried out and over 420 criteria and points were verified during the process.

The preparation and certification process involved experts from multiple disciplines alongside the Skanska team — from designers and architects to facility managers and external specialists in acoustics and thermal comfort.

WELL in the Context of Other Certifications

Port7 now holds several international recognitions. The project had already received LEED C&S v4/4.1 Platinum for environmental performance and also became the first office building in the Czech Republic to obtain the Access4You certification evaluating inclusivity and accessibility. WELL complements these certifications with a strong focus on user health, well-being and comfort.

“The combination of LEED, WELL and Access4You certifications clearly shows that Port7 is a next-generation project — sustainable, inclusive, and above all people-focused,” concludes Eva Nykodymová.
