Czech industrial output grew 6.7 percent in February compared to a year ago, according to the latest figures from the Czech Statistics Office (CSU). It also rose by 1.7 percent compared to a month before. The value of new orders rose by 19.9 percent y-o-y and industry sales were up 11 percent.

Construction, meanwhile, grew for the third consecutive month, with output rising 6.1 percent compared with the same month last year. However, it was less than expected following a mild winter and the CSU points out that the figures were extremely low a year ago. The number of construction permits dropped 13.8 percent y-o-y in Frebruary, while the estimated cost of the construction rose 3.5 percent y-o-y to CZK 19.6bn.
